Lincoln and Kentucky
Abraham Lincoln spent the first seven years of his life in Kentucky and the state continued to affect his life at every stage. During the Civil War he accepted the state's illegal neutrality and in the 1864 presidential election, Kentucky was one of only three states to vote against him.
