SIR, THE discussions which have lately taken place on International Currency, and the appeals which disputants on both sides have made to the 1st Lord Liverpool's Letter to the King on Coins, have brought to light the fact that the work has been for some time virtually out of print. We have considered that we should be rendering a service to the public by using some of the means at our disposal to republish this valuable treatise which deals exhaustively not only with metallic circulation, but also with the abuses of which the issue of Paper-Money is susceptible. We trust that you will signify your approval of this measure by permitting us to inscribe this new edition to you in your double capacity of Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Master of Her Majesty's Mint. |
