Dec. 31. There are 65,025 employees in the Federal Civil Service in the D. C., a reduction of

52,735 since the armistice.

Instructive Visiting Nurses Society made 56,334 home calls during year upon 6,748 patients.

5860 marriage licenses were issued in D. C. during the year.

Births in D. C. during year were 6413 white, 2616 colored, a total of 9029. The deaths were

4449 white, 2656 colored, a total of 7105.
