SECTION 2. That so much of Back lane, in said reserved tract, as extends from the westerly line of out-lots, one hundred and ninety-nine, and two hundred and eighteen, to Pasture lane, be, and the same is hereby vacated, with the like provisions as to title as are enacted in the case of Ferry lane, in the preceding section of this act.

SECTION 7. That the qualified voters of the township of West Bethlehem, Washington county, shall hereafter hold their township and general elections at the house of Samuel Braden, in said township.

SECTION 8. That the qualified electors of that part of Shenango township, Lawrence county, who reside within the following boundaries, Shenango town- beginning at the east side of the Shenango river, where the old Beaship, Lawrence ver and Mercer county line strikes said river, and running east along county, new school district said line to the great road leading from Pearson's Mill to the Falls of the Big Run; thence southwardly by said road to where it crosses the south boundary of lot number six; thence westwardly by said boundary to the Pittsburg road; thence by a great road running from that point westwardly to the canal; thence due west to the Shenango river; thence up and along said river to the place of beginning, be, and they are hereby erected into a separate election district, to hold their election at the break school house, at or near the end of the Neshanock bridge, in said township of Shenango; and Robert Reynolds is hereby appointed judge, and Alexander Newell and William Hamilton, inspectors of elections, until others are elected in said district.

SECTION 10. That the validity of the township election of North North Towanda Towanda township, Bradford county, held on Friday, February sixtownship, Bradford county, teenth, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two, at the house of Stephen A. Mills, or of the right of the township officers then elected to hold and exercise the duties of their several offices, shall not be impaired by reason of any irregularity in holding said election or otherwise.

AN ACT

Relative to the sureties of Edmund L. Dana, Administrator of Ralph Peters, deceased.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after the first day of March next, Mary Ellis, widow and executrix of Henry D. Ellis, late of Lycoming county, deceased, be and she is hereby released from all liability accruing thereafter, for or by reason of a bond executed by the said Henry D. Ellis, in his life time, as security for Edmund L. Dana, administrator of Ralph Peters, deceased, in accordance with an act of the General Assembly, approved the thirteenth day of April, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, entitled "An Act authorizing the executors of Putnam Catlin, late of the county of Susquehanna, deceased, to sell and convey certain real estate, and for other purposes:" Provided, That the said Edmund L. Dana, shall not be authorized, after the first day of March next, to make any sales of the real estate of said Ralph Peters, deceased, until he shall have entered into a new bond with sureties, to be approved as required by the act as aforesaid.

Authorizing the Directors of the Farmers' and Mechanics' Bank of Easton

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repres tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Asseml met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, Tl the directors of the Farmers' and Mechanics' Bank of Easton be, and they are hereby authorized to make sale of the residue of the shares of the stock of said bank not subscribed for, at such times and places

as may be deemed best for the interest of the institution: Provided,
That the said directors shall not be allowed to sell any share or shares
for less than the par value of the same.

A SUPPLEMENT

To an act entitled "An Act to authorize the Governor to incorporate the Wrightsville and New Holland Turnpike Road Company," approved April nintli, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine, and to repeal certain special road laws in Monaghan township, York county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the president and directors of the Wrightsville and New Holland turnpike road company, are hereby authorized and required to sell three hundred shares of the remaining or unsold stock of said company, to enable them to pay their debts, at two dollars per share; each stockholder is allowed to take as many shares of stock at said price as he holds at present; in case the said stockholders refuse to take all of said stock, then the president and directors are to sell the balance at public sale; but no person is allowed to purchase except stockholders: Provided, It is not all sold on the day of sale, the balance is to be offered to the public in general.

SECTION 2. AN ACT

To authorize John A. Snyder, late Treasurer of the county of Somerset, to appeal from the report of the county auditors, for the year ending sixth of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one.

WHEREAS, It is alleged by John A. Snyder, late treasurer of the county of Somerset, that an error was made in the settlement of his accounts by the auditors, of the said county of Somerset, at the settlement which was made in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, which was not discovered until the succeeding settlement, which took place in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That John A. Snyder, late treasurer of the county of Somerset, be, and he is hereby authorized and empowered to appeal from the report of the settlement of his accounts, as filed by the auditors of the county of Somset, in the office of the prothonotary of the said county, for the year ending sixth January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, in the same manner and with the same effect as if the appeal had been taken and entered in the office of the said prothonotary, within the time prescribed by existing laws: Provided, That the appeal hereby authorized, be taken within three months from the passage of this act.

ANACT

Authorizing the Governor to incorporate the Tuckahoe and Mount Pleasant Plank Road Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represenatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly net, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That

Commissioners. John H. Brant, Daniel Stone, William P. Dysert, William Smily, Charles Fuller, John Bell, James Magee, Horn R. Kneas, John Covode, Strickland Kneass, John Cole, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners to open books, receive subscriptions, and organize a company, by the name, style, and title of the Tuckahoe and Mount Pleasant plank road company, with power to construct a plank road, commencing at any suitable and convenient point, at or near Mount Pleasant, in Clearfield county, and terminating at the nearest and most eligible point of the Pennsylvania railroad, in Tuckahoe valley, subject to all the provisions and restrictions of an act regulating turnpike and plank road companies, approved the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine, and the several supplements thereto.

SECTION 2. That the capital stock of said company shall consist of one thousand shares, at twenty-five dollars each.

AN ACT

Susplementary to "the act incorporating the first Methodist Episcopal Church in the city of Lancaster..

WHEREAS, The members of the first Methodist Episcopal Church, in the city of Lancaster, have prayed for "An Act to amend their act of incorporation, for the better management of their affairs.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the said corporation, shall be called, and known by the name, style, and title of "the first Methodist Episcopal Church, of the city of Lancaster," and by the same name shall have perpetual succession, and be able to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded in all courts of law, and elsewhere, and shall be able and capable in law and equity, to take, hold, and receive, to them and their successors, for the use of said society, lands, tenements, goods, and chattles, of whatsoever kind, nature or quality, real, personal, or mixed, which is now, or shall, or may, at any time hereafter, become the property of said society, or be held
