SECTION 2. That from and after the passage of this act, John Sheaff John Sheaff Tidd, name Idd, of the city of Lancaster, shall be called and known by the name changed. John Henry Sheaff, and by that name shall be capable of sueing and being sued, and of taking any real or personal estate by descent, deuse, or purchase, and of granting or devising the same in the same manner as if he had always been known by the name of John Henry Leaff.

SECTION 3. That Elizabeth Brooks, wife of George Brooks, and Elizabeth daughter of George Coleman, deceased, all of Lebanon county, shall Brooks legitisave and enjoy all the rights and privileges of a child born in lawful mated. wedlock, and that she shall be able and capable in law to take, hold, mherit, and possess, pass, and transmit, all and every estate, real and personal, of whatever kind or nature, as fully and effectually to all intents and purposes, as if she had been born in lawful wedlock.

AN ACT

Supplementary to an act entitled "An Act to incorporate the Northern Liberties Gas Company."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly het, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the c. pital stock of the Northern Liberties gas company be, and it is hereby increased to the sum of three hundred thousand dollars, to be

that the said court is hereby authorized to proceed to trial, verdict, a judgment, as the said court in Centre county, in which the same now pending, could or might do; and that it shall be the duty of t Court of Common Pleas of Centre county to make distribution of t moneys for which these several issues are framed, upon the verdi and judgments which shall be rendered, and entered in and by the s court in Northumberland county on receiving a copy of the recor thereof, and the costs heretofore incurred in said issues shall abide t event of the same, and the record of said issues shall be duly certi by the prothonotary of Centre county to the said Court of Comm Pleas of Northumberland county: Provided, That the said county Northumberland shall be re-imbursed by said county of Centre cost and expenses to be incurred by reason of the transfer of the afo said issues, and said issues shall be tried at one or more adjourn courts, to be held exclusively for the trial of said issues, so as not interfere with the regular business in the courts of said county Northumberland: And provided also, That final judgments of s issues shall be subject to writs of error as in other cases; and in ca of reversal of the same and a venire facias de novo awarded, the sa shall again be transferred and tried in Northumberland county, in t Proviso as to se- same manner as herein before provided for: And provided, That the par curity for costs. requesting the removal of said issues shall, before removing the san give security in such sum or sums as the Court of Common Pleas Centre county may direct, conditioned for the payment of all costs said issues in case final judgment is given against the party applyi for the removal of the same.

To authorize Henry Dehuff to sell certain real estate in Lebanon county; change the name of John Sheaff Tidd, and to legitimatize Elizabeth Brooks.

WHEREAS, It is desirable that certain real estate belonging to th estate of Philip Greenawalt, deceased, or to the estate of Mathis Greenawalt, deceased, should be sold, and the proceeds thereof distr buted to, and amongst the heirs entitled in the will of Phil Greenawalt, deceased:

And whereas, There is no authority in the Orphans' Court Lebanon county, to grant an order for the sale of the same; therefore SECTION 1. SECTION 2. That so much as may be contained in the act to which this is a supplement as restricts the expenditure of said capital to th district of the Northern Liberties, be, and it is hereby repealed.

AN ACT

Lelative to the district of Richmond, in the county of Philadelphia; to the Commissioners of the district of Kensington, and the Kensington and Oxford turnpike road company, and to the side-walks on the Germantown turnpike road, north of the Kensington boundary line.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Commissioners Commissioners of the district of Richmond, in the county of Philaof the district of delphia, are hereby authorized and directed to have the grade upon the Richmond to Frankford road, at its intersection with Indiana street (now vacated), change the and at such other parts as may be necessary, so altered by the surveyor grade of the Frankford road, or surveyors of the said district, as to provide a suitable passage or passages for the said water, and a plan of the alterations so made, shall be filed in the office of the Court of Quarter Sessions, of said county, and thirty days' public notice given of the same, which notice, together with the whole proceedings, to obtain a confirmation of the said alterations by the said court, shall be in conformity with the sixteenth section of the act of incorporation of the said district, approved on the twentyseventh day of February, A. D., one thousand eight hundred and fortyseven; and the said alterations, when confirmed, shall be marked by the surveyor or surveyors upon the plans of survey of said district already filed in the said office, and the court shall direct the surveyor or surveyors to alter the grades of the said turnpike and streets, to conform to the said confirmed plan, and from thenceforth the same shall be, and remain unalterable.
