AN ACT

Altering the fifth section of the charter, or so much as relates to the election of deacons of the German Reformed Congregation of the borough of Lebanon and its vicinity.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the fifth section of the act to which this is a supplement, be, and it is hereby amended, so as to allow the German Reformed congregation of the borough of Lebanon and its vicinity, to elect six deacons instead of four, and in such a manner that three, of said number of six, shall go out of office every year; the six deacons, the four elders, and the pastor of said congregation, to constitute its consistory.

AN ACT

To incorporate the Odd Fellows' Hall Association, of Mechanicsburg, in the county of Cumberland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That John Emingor, David Long, John Palmer and others, members of Mechanisburg Lodge, number two hundred and fifteen, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, at Mechanicsburg, in the county of Cumberland, and their successors, and all persons who hereafter may be associated with them, be, and they are hereby created and erected into a body politic and corporate in deed and in law, by the name, style, and title of "The Odd Fellows' Hall Association, of Mechanicsburg, in the county of Cumberland," and by that name shall have perpetual succession, and be able to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any court of law or equity or elsewhere, and shall be able and capable in law and in equity, to take and to hold to them and their successors, either by grant, gift, devise, or lease, any lands or real estate, for the purpose of erecting thereon a suitable building or buildings, for the use of said association; any goods and chattels, sum or sums of money, by gift, grant, bargain, sale, will, devise, or bequest, from any person, or persons whatsoever, capable of making the same, and the same at their pleasure to grant, bargain, and sell, lease and mortgage, for the use or benefit of the said association, and generally to do, all and singular, the matters and things which shall be lawful for them to do for the well-being and due management of the affairs of the said association: Provided, That the real estate, of which the said corporation shall be at any time possessed of, shall not exceed the clear yearly value of three thous and dollars.

SECTION 2. That the object of the said association shall be to provide, erect, and furnish a hall or suitable building or buildings, in the town of Mechanicsburg, in the county of Cumberland, for the accommodation of said association or societies, and for such other purposes as they shall deem proper.

SECTION 3. That it shall and may be lawful for said incorporation to have a common seal, and the same, at their pleasure, to change, alter, and renew, as they shall deem proper, and shall have and exercise all the rights and privileges and immunities, necessary for the pur poses of the incorporation hereby constituted and as herein expressed.

SECTION 4. That the government of the "Odd Fellow's Hall Association, of Mechanicsburg," and the management and disposition of its Board of trus- affairs and property, shall be vested in a board of trustees, who shall be elected annually, at such time and in such manner, as the said association shall, by its by-laws, provide; at the first meeting of the trus tees, after their election in each year, they shall choose from their body a president, secretary, and treasurer.

SECTION 5. That the corporation hereby created, shall have leave and authority to make by-laws comformable to the charter, and not in violation of the Constitution and laws of the United States or of this Commonwealth.

SECTION 6. That the Legislature reserves the right to alter, revoke, Reservation. or amend this charter, whenever in their opinion, such revocation shall

AN ACT

To authorize the Canal Commissioners to examine the claims of Bingham &
Dock and others, for damages sustained by the sinking of canal boats General
Simon Cameron and Yazoo on the Pennsylvania canal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen→ tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Canal Commissioners be, and they are hereby authorized and direeted to examine the claims of Bingham & Dock, of Philadelphia, D. A. Grier, Luke Loomis, T. Jeffries, of Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, D. T. Putney & Co., of Armstrong county, Pennsylvania, E. Hughes, of Cambria county, Pennsylvania, Baker Pote & Co., of Bedford county, for damages sustained by them in consequence of the sinking of the canal boat General Simon Cameron, which was occasioned by a sunken coal boat having been permitted to lay in the canal near Bainbridge, on the night of the third of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one; also to investigate the claim of Bingham & Dock, for damages sustained by them in consequence of the sinking of canal boat Yazoo, which was occasioned by a rock having been left lay in the canal, and upon which the said boat Yazoo and her cargo was damaged on the night of the eighteenth of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, and to report the same together with the facts to the Legislature as soon as practicable.

AN ACT

To authorize the Pittsburg and Steubenville Turnpike Road Company to change the location of their road and increase their stock, and relative to the Findleyville and Saw Mill Run Plank Road Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the president and managers of the Pittsburg and Steubenville turnpike road company shall have full power to alter or change the location of any part of their road for the purpose of planking the same: Provided, That said company shall pay all damages that may accrue to individuals on the new location, to be assessed and paid in the same manner as provided for in the original charter of said company.

SECTION 2. That said president and managers shall have full power to increase their capital stock to the amount of one hundred shares of fifty dollars each, to be paid in as may be directed by the said president and managers, and to be applied to the improvement of said road under the direction of said managers.

SECTION 3. That all laws or parts of laws conflicting with this act are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. That the proviso of the third section of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Findleyville and Saw Mill Run plank road company, approved the eighth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

To incorporate the McConnellsburg and Maryland Line Turnpike or Plank Road
Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Commissioners. Daniel Fore, Mark Dickson, John W. Bohn, William S. Fletcher,

Jacob Reed, James Kendall, William S. Nelson, Daniel Logan, Hugh Rankin, Samuel Robinson, William Patterson, John Pott, Daniel Peck, William Bishop, William W. Kirk, James Hughes, Lemuel Gordon, Abner Stigers, Henry Fite, Joseph Pitman, or any five of them, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners to open books, receive subscriptions, and organize a company, by the name, style, and title of "The McConnellsburg and Maryland Line Turnpike or Plank Road Style.
