II. The following comrades are appointed a committee to act in unison with similar committees from the various societies of women organized for the purpose of aiding any needy and distressed comrades and their families, to effect a union of these societies into one body, in order that their energies may be concentrated and strengthened, and all cause for division among our comrades on this subject may be removed:

III. The National Countersign has been forwarded to the Assistant Adjutant-General of each Department, and will take effect on the 1st of January. Its receipt should be acknowledged at once.

IV. The Executive Committee of the National Council of Administration convened at St. Paul, Minn., December 3, and, after consultation with the local committee, fixed the date of the opening session of the Thirtieth Annual Encampment for Thursday, September 3, 1896, and the

parade for Wednesday. This was conditional upon the completion of the agreement by the railroads to give a uniform rate of one cent a mile to and from St. Paul, which was verbally pledged, and little doubt exists of its fulfillment.

V. E. T. Lee, the Secretary of the Shiloh Battlefield Association, Monticello, Ill., desires the name, company and regiment, with postoffice address of every man living who took part in the battle of Shiloh on April 6 and 7, 1862.
