Boston. Messenger to the Governor and Council, Joseph B. Spear, Compensation of the Executive and the Legislature. The salary of the Governor is $3,500; of the Lieutenant-Governor, $600 for the regular annual session of the Council; and for attendance at any subsequent session, $6 per day, and mileage at the same rate as members of the Council and Legislature. The pay of the Councillors is $300 for the regular annual session of their board, and $3 per day for any subsequent session, and $1 for every five miles' travel from their respective places of abode, once at each session. The salaries of the Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and Attorney-General are severally $2,000; and of the Adjutant-General, $1,800. The pay of Senators and Representatives is $300 for the regular annual session, and $1 for every five miles' travel from their respective places of abode, once in each session.
