American Foreign Service Authors: A Bibliography

This is the first and only bibliography of American foreign service authors who have served abroad since the establishment of the U.S. government. Included are approximately 760 foreign service officers (or wives of foreign service personnel) who have published books. Arrangement is alphabetical by author, with bibliographical citations for the author's published works. The majority of the works cited are memoirs of foreign service duty and narrations of historical value or books on diplomacy and American foreign relations. The bibliography should be a valuable tool for reference librarians, for students of government, history and diplomacy, for newspaper editors and columnists, and for diplomats.--
