TUESDAY, June 1, 1813. Mr. Howell presented a petition of Jolin Sweevy, of the state of Yew York, praying to be placed on ile pension list in consideration of wounds received

whilst a lieutenant in a volunteer company at the battle of Queenstown, in Canada.

Mr. Howell presented a petitivu of Joshua Mer. rill, of New York, praying for a pension in consi. deration of a wound received whilst acting as a volunteer in the army in the battle of Queenstown, in Canada.

Mr. Gloninger presented a petition of Jolin Brooks, executor of John Brooks, deceased, of Peunsylvania, prayiug compensation for services rendered by the deccased in the capacity of a major in the revolutionary army:

Ordered, That the said petitions be referred to the Committee of Claims.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, Ordered, That the petition of Matthew Rosburgh and Elizabeth Roxburgh, presented on the 24th of March, 1812, be referred to the Coinnittee of Claims.

On motion of Mr. Dawson, Ordered, Thai the petition of John Thompson, presented on the 29th of Jlay, 1812, be referred to the Committee of Claims.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of Henry Ilarris, of Maryland, praying for a pension iq consideration of wounds received whilst a soldier in the revolutionary army,

Ordered, That the said petition be referred to thic Secretary of War.

VIr. Hall, of Georgia, presented a petition of Da. niel Newman, of the state of licorgia, praying compensativu for his servant, who was killed in the expedition commanded by the petitioner against the Siminole Ludians, during the last campaign.

Ordered, That the said petition be referred to the Committee of Claims.

The Speaker laiil before the House a letter from the Secretary of War, transmitting his report in re

lation to invalid pensions, which were referred to the Committee of Claims.

Ou motion of Mr. Robertson, Resolved, That a committee bc appointed to inquire into the expediency of establishing a district court in the Mississippi territory, and that they have leave to report by bill or otherwise.

Mr. Robertson, Mr. Telfair, Mr. Bowen, Mr. Cooper, and Vír. Ward, of Massachusetts, were appointed the said committee.

The House resumed the consideration of the un. finished business of yesterday.
