ERRATA ET ADDENDUM.

The following are some of the errata which escaped notice at the moment, and could not, unfortunately, be corrected at a later opportunity by reason of the circumstances which attended the passage through the Press:

Page 17, line 13, for "peoyle " read "people."

Page 33, hymn 16, line 1, for "And " read "The."
Page 167, hymn 144, add the following Doxology:
Praise to the FATHER, SON,

And SPIRIT, ever be

The ever-glorious THREE in ONE,

To all Eternity! Amen.

OF DIVINE SERVICE.

CHRISTIAN Worship is a Sacrifice or offering made to Almighty GoD, partly by the Priest alone, and partly by the People with the Priest.

The Sacrifices offered are

1. Prayer;

2. Praise, such as Psalms, Canticles, Creeds, and Hymns;

3. Alms and the offering of Bread and Wine.

4. But chiefly the Sacrifice of the Death of CHRIST, made as a perpetual Memorial before GOD, in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, or Holy Communion.

When the Priest offers for the People he stands; when he prays with them he kneels. In Praise all stand together. In Prayer all the People kneel.

Besides worship, instruction belongs to the Christian Service. This is given in the Lessons, Epistles, Gospels, Exhortations, and Sermons. In these, as in pronouncing Absolution, the Priest turns towards the People. But in all Prayer and Worship he turns from the People, to show them that he is not now speaking to them, but for them, and with them, to GOD.

PRAYER BEFORE SERVICE.

CLEANSE our hearts, O GOD, and drive far from us all the snares of the enemy; that our Prayers and Praises may be not only from the lips, but from the heart; and may go up from this Thy Holy Temple on earth, to Thy Mercy Seat in heaven, for JESUS CHRIST's sake.

OUR Father, &c.

PRAYER AFTER SERVICE.

PARDON, O LORD, our wandering thoughts and cold desires, and when we quit Thy House may we not quit Thy presence, but may we be ever near to Thee and Thou to us, through JESUS CHRIST our Lord.

OUR Father, &c.
