EXPENSES.—Total, per week, $2 75 to $3 75. Board in best private families, everything furnished, $2 50 to $3 50; in clubs $2 00 to $2 50. Selfboarding $150 to $2 00. Tuition, per session of ten week, $10 00. Any textbooks used in the school may be rented at ten cents a volume, per term. DIPLOMAS EQUIVALENT TO STATE CERTIFICATES.

See charter: "SEC. 5. The principal shall have power to confer degrees and grant diplomas, signed by the principal, teachers and president of board trustees. Graduates of the course prescribed for teachers shall have the right to teach in the common schools of the state for five years without examination by either the state or county boards."

This is the only institution in the state whose graduates have such right. The exercises of the first graduating class take place at the close of the school year, July 6. The class is composed of nine ladies and gentlemen of mature minds. Next school-year opens Tuesday, Sept. 5. Five sessions: Four of ten weeks each, and one-Normal Institute of eight weeks. The sole work of this school is the education and training of teachers. Students may enter at any time by paying tuition for ten weeks succeeding matriculation.
