IN presenting a new edition of "EUROPA" to the reading. public, a few changes have been made, and a supplementary chapter has been added, embracing a history of the empire of Napoleon III. Time has changed some of the opinions of the author, and two subsequent visits to Europe have given a somewhat different view of some of the places visited and described. The book is still presented as a "first view," a "hasty glance;" and, as such, will be found to be substantially correct.
