At a meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, in the United States of America, held in Philadelphia, in May 1814.

The Stated and Permanent clerks, and the Rev. James P. Wilson, D. D. George C. Potts, and James Patterson, were appointed a committee to select the extracts of the minutes of this Assembly, proper to be printed.

Mr. William Bradford, No. 8, south Front street, is employed as the agent for forwarding the printed extracts to the Presbyteries; and to him must the Presbyteries apply in future for their respective portions of the printed

extracts.

The Rev. Jacob J. Janeway, the stated Clerk, resides in Philadelphia, Arch street, No. 208.

FROM THE

MINUTES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

MAY 19th, 1814.

THE General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America met, agreeably to appointment, in the Second Presbyterian Church in the city of Philadelphia, at 11 o'clock A. M. (the First Presbyterian Church having been, owing to injury sustained by fire, rendered unfit for their accommodation,) and was opened by the Rev. Samuel Blatchford, D. D. with a sermon from Daniel xii. 3." And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars for ever and

ever.

After prayer, the commissions were read; and it appeared that the following ministers and elders were duly appointed, and attended as Commissioners to this Assembly: viz.
