This treatise was written by my great great grandfather George Washington Colman. Rev. Colman was a great man himself, erudite, curious, wise and gentle. He greatly admired Abraham Lincoln, defended him to the point of losing his position due to his parishioners' anger at asking them to pray for the President, and deeply mourned his death.
