Prof. of Practical Theology, in Yale University, New Haven, Conn. Graduate of Bowdoin College, 1857. Studied theology at Bangor, Me. 1860 called to the pas torate South Congregational Church, St. Johnsbury, Vt. Served as chaplain of the 12th Vermont Regiment. In 1869 went abroad for study.

REV. GEORGE EDWARD REED, D.D.,

President of Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Graduate of Wilbraham Academy, 1865, and Wesleyan University in 1869. In 1875 became pas tor of the Hanson Place Church, Brooklyn, largest M. E. Church in the United States. Successful pastor, brilliant preacher, and widely known as a lecturer and platform orator.
