THE present volume concludes the Origin, Progress, and Present Practice of the Bankrupt Law. In order that the work may correspond with its title, I have examined, abridged, arranged, and made my own observations upon, every material decision. The labour I have been obliged to bestow upon the subject has far exceeded my original calculation: the inequality of the volumes sufficiently proves the error of the estimate. I have thought it my duty not only to introduce every judicial determination, but to examine every question not yet decided, which has occurred within my experience, or which has been suggested to my mind. |
