He will say unto them, on his right "hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, in"herit the kingdom prepared for you from the "foundation of the world."

A. He will say unto them on his left "hand, depart from me ye cursed into ever"lasing fire, prepared for the devil and his "angels."

* Q. 14.-What will then become of them? A. These last shall go away into ever"lasting punishment; but the righteous into life eternal," See Matt. 25.

Q. 15. Is it any comfort to the righteous to know that they will be judged by Christ?

A. Yes; it is a great consolation to them to know, that all judgment is committed to Jesus, who hath redeemed them unto God by his own blood. They long for his appearing, and say, Come Lord Jesus,

Q. 16. And what effect will it have on the wicked?

A, It will cover them with confusion to see Jesus whom they have slighted, come to judge them, for they will know that having neglected his salvation, they are justly condemned, and lost without remedy.

Q. 17.-How should the belief of all these things influence us?

A. We should diligently prepare for that great day, and should live in constant readiness for it; for now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation.

Q. 18. Repeat what St. Peter says on this subject, in his 2d Epistle.

I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY GHOST.

* QUESTION 1.—What is the meaning of the word Ghost?

ANSWER.-The word Ghost has the same meaning as Spirit, and therefore, the Holy Ghost means the Holy Spirit.

* Q. 2.-Who is the Holy Ghost?

A. The third person in the Godhead, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified.

* Q. 3.— Why is he called the Holy Ghost?

A. Because he is infinitely holy in himself, and the author of all holiness in us.

Q. 4. What is the doctrine of our Church respecting the Holy Ghost?

A.-The doctrine of our Church is this, that The Holy Ghost, proceeding from the

Father and the Son, is of one substance, "Majesty, and Glory with the Father and the 5th Article of Son, very and eternal God."

Q. 5. Are we taught by our Church to pray to the Holy Ghost?

A. Yes; we do pray to him in the Litany. "O God the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the Father and the Sou, have mercy upon us "miserable sinners."

Q. 6. What blessings are we taught to expect from the Holy Ghost?

A. We pray that God would cleanse the "thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of "his Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love "him and worthily magnify his holy name;" and also that he would endue us with the grace of his Holy Spirit, to amend our lives "according to his holy name,"

Q. 7. And are these things written in Scripture?

A. Yes; as the Scripture teaches us to believe in God the Father, and God the Son, so it teaches us to believe in God the Holy Ghost, who sanctifieth us, and all the elect people of God,

A.-Our Lord commanded his disciples to. teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the "Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" from whence it appears that the Holy Ghost is a Divine Person, and equally with the Father and the Son, an object of our worship.

Q. 9.-And do we learn from Scripture to pray to the Holy Ghost?

A. Yes; we are taught to pray for the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, as we pray for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God. 2d Cor. 13. 14.

Q. 10.-Does the Scripture speak of the Holy Ghost, as of God?

A. Yes; in many places.

"Holy Ghost" is the same as

He is called The eternal Spirit;" is said to "know all things, even the deep things of "God," and to fill heaven and earth. Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Ps. 139. 7.
