ABRAHAM LINCOLN was born on the 12th of February, 1809, and is now, therefore, past fifty-five years of age. .
His parents were Thomas Lincoln, born in Virginia, 1778, and Nancy Hanks, also a Virginian, the date of whose birth is undetermined.
The ancestors of Thomas Lincoln were of English descent, as their name indicates. We find the first traces of them in Pennsylvania, where, as Quakers, their faith naturally led them to settle.
