A Relation of the second Voyage to | Guiana Small 4to. the margins of a few leaves mended and the last four leaves 1596 14 0 0 This is a book of excessive rarity, in any condition. It was called the Second Voyage because Raleigh's own, performed in 1595, but only printed in the same year as this, was the First. Keymis had an early and tragic end; but his book forms part of the brilliant history of English seamanship in the days of Elizabeth. 32 leaves, with signatures A and A-E in fours, F in eight leaves. A large woodcut of Raleigh's arms occupies the reverse of the title, and faces the dedication to him. This dedication ends on the obverse of the third leaf; on the reverse and on the three succeeding pages is an address to the Fanourers of the Voyage for Guiana. On the reverse of leaf 5 begins a Carmen Epicum in English, which ends on the obverse of 8 with the signature G. C. On the reverse of leaf 8 is a set of Latin verses addressed by Keymis to Hariot. The closing lines of the Carmen Epicum are Where new Britannia humblie kneeles to Heauen, The world to her, and both at Her blest feete In whom the circles of all Empire meet. 74 KINGSBOROUGH (Edward King, Viscount) ANTIQUITIES OF MEXICO: comprising facsimiles of Ancient Mexican Paintings and Hieroglyphics, preserved in the Royal Libraries of Paris, Berlin, and Dresden; in the Imperial Library of Vienna; in the Vatican Library; in the Borgian Museum at Rome; in the Library of the Institute of Bologna; and in the Bodleian Library at Oxford.
