The blank leaves were rejected as useless probably by the distinguished Doctor of Law Luca Danese da Ravenna (1598-1679) whose signature is found on the first leaf. The marginal notes which appear in the book are not by him, but are of the end of the fifteenth century. They were written probably in the Convent of St. Stephen, at Bergamo, to which the book then belonged, as appears from a note on page 1 of dedication.
