It has a special interest for English collectors, because a part of the translation was made by an Englishman, Linacre, and a letter of William Grocyn to Aldus is printed near the end, which gives a number of details concerning the study of Greek literature in England at the time. This letter has been eulogized by both Aldus and Erasmus, and is the only published work of Grocyn, a native of Bristol, who, at the time he wrote was Greek Professor in Exeter College, Oxford.
