Palgrave, asa rule that deriving its name from Fagrave in the north so wrote it, and the Palgraves of the south were as generally distinguished by the addition of the 'l.' Soon after the Conquest a part of Fagrave in Norfolk was separated from the rest and became the village called Fagrave Parr/a, or Little Fagrave, whilst the other part was distinguished as Fagrave Magna.
