MINUTES, ETC. SAINT LOUIS, Mo., May 17th, 1866. THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA met, agreeably to appointment, in the First Presbyterian Church of SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI, on Thursday, May 17th, 1866, at 11 o'clock A.M., and was opened with a sermon, by the Rev. JAMES B. SHAW, D.D., the Moderator of the last Assembly, from Psalm 65: 2: "O thou that hearest prayer." After the sermon, the Assembly was constituted with prayer. The Committee of Arrangements reported, recommending that the sessions of the Assembly be opened at 8 o'clock A.M., and 3 o'clock P.M.; that they close at 12 M., and 5 o'clock P.M.; that the evening services commence at 74 o'clock; and that the daily morning prayer-meeting commence at 9 o'clock, and continue until 10 o'clock A.M. The report was adopted. Adjourned until 3 o'clock P.M. Concluded with prayer. THURSDAY, May 17th, 3 o'clock P.M. The Assembly met, and was opened with prayer. The minutes of the last session were read and approved.
