Tue correspondent who has sent us the dialogue betwist Classic, a manager, and Costise, a dramatic poel, beimming withinese lines,

Classic.- Well, if you choose to make a trial,

"Tis Vor et prate ea nihil;
The scene's too long; the draina full;

The play is quidam tenus, dull;
has some humour; but his verses are too mcorrect for publication.

The comparison of a fashionable lady to the “ MIRACULOUS Hex," as described in the song, is drvil. We wish there was not a serious ohjention to its insertion in the E. M.

We can assure C. H. S. that we have taken as much time in looking for his tale as would have served us to have written one of a tolerable lugth. We must, therefore, conclude, that it never came to tiand; for had we becu in possession of it for the perio i he speaks of, we should unquestionably have either inserted or acknowledged it, perhaps !oth.

We shall ceriainly take speedy notice of Planquats' Spanish Granimar. The circumstances of the tines have rendered the aitaitment of that language an o'ject highly interesting.

We are afraid that Buon 3 PARTE is too far gone to be rhymed nito rcuson : however, the verses addressed to him are under consideralion,

The warm allusiou to snow shall be inserted.

The Vision of the Bishop of St. Andero ; the poem signed Billy Twigg; and a number of other poetical articles, are received.

To the judgment of our friend H. I. P. (who, hy the bye, writes a most beautiful hand) we think we may appeal, whether the FROLIC, if it can be so terme'i, of those juvenile cits, who were so " fond of being reckoned young men of spirit,” is a fit subject for a magazine. In our opinions, it is not.

" That kind of wit is out of date," iu the first iastance ; and therefore we, secondly, would most seriously recommend them to

" Stick to the rule of three, and mind their trades." We shall be very happy to oblige H. G. if we possibly can.

We are extreinely sorry that we have offended our esteemed friend POSTHUMUS, by sculking behind his tisie, which we certainly had no title to do; but we considered the appellation which he assumed, like a broad blazoned shield, prepared to quarter many fancia , ful and chimerical objects, and extending its urms to meet supporters. We are not fond of either interfering with the tities of papers, of books, or of booksellers, and therefore shall be more cautious in future. We cannot stop the current of our ink, till we have made another apology 10 the game author, for having withheld the long extract from “ the Lady's Travels into Spain." This work, we must observe, so far froin being scarce, is to be found in almost every bouk-broker's shop; consequently we did not think that it had sutricient curiosity to attract, or novelty to aniuse our readers.

The observations of ExPOSITUs on the theory of comets shall be inserted in our next.

ERRATA. Vol. LIII. p. 357, col. 1, l. 57, for futher's mother, read father and mother. Ibidem, l. 51,"for Sir W. Rawlinson troio Grauthwaite, read from Graythronite.-N.B. There are curious historical monuments to the mentories of Damel Ramlyson and his son, Sir Thomas (who was lord wayor in 1706), in St. Dionis Ba kchureti, Fenchurch-street. There is also a fine monument, at the Abrey church of St. Albani's, to the memory of Christopher Rawlinson, the grandson of Roberi.-- Page 377, col. 1,1. 11 from bolium, for unceii read unveils.
