Judgment has been obtained in the United States circuit court
for the southern district of Illinois against Mr. Bond and
sureties for $5,000. Execution issued and levy was made
on their lands, which were sold at marshal's sale on the
15th August, 1859, for $5,123 47, subject to redemption
under State laws.

This balance has not been reported to the Solicitor for suit.

Suit for the recovery of this balance was instituted in November, 1858, in the United States circuit court at Baltimore, against A. Nunez, one of the sureties of Mr. Loring, and resulted in a judgment, at the recent term of said court, in favor of the United States, for $5,135 66.
