IN SENATE, March 19, 1830. REPORT Of the committee on banks and insurance companies, to which was referred the bill from the Assembly, to incorporate the President and Directors of the Hudson River Bank. Mr. Allen, from the committee on banks and insurance companies, to which was referred the bill from the Assembly to incorporate the president and directors of the Hudson River Bank, and in obedience to the resolution of the Senate passed March the 5th, 1830, REPORTED AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT :— That the petitioners for this incorporation are numerous, and appear to include some of the inhabitants of almost every town in the county of Columbia. The population of the city of Hudson, (where the bank is to be located,) is estimated at six thousand, and that of the county of Columbia, at forty thousand inhabitants. The manufactures, commerce, and trade of this city, appear to have greatly increased of late years; and from statistical information furnished the committee, they are enabled to state, that for manufacturing purposes, there has been invested about two million of dollars.
