LONDON:
Tkubner & Co., Paternoster Row.

Entered according to Act of Congress, In the year 1871, by

ALBERT TAYLOR BLEDSOE, LL. D., In the Offlce of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington.

It has already been announced that the publication of the Southern Rkview has been transferred from Baltimore to the Southwestern Book and Publishing Company, 510 Washington Avenue, St. Louis. Dr. Bledsoe retains the editorial management of the Review.

The Publishers, with the industrious co-operatioji of the

Editor, have been enabled to issue this number of th^ Review in a very limited time after the issue of the July number. They have so entirely overcome the disadvantageous circumstances under which the publication was commenced as to feel confident of invariable promptness in the future. Their thanks are tendered for commendations by the Pres^and public of the typographical accuracy and neatness of the last number. No pains will be spared to maintain in all respects the high standard of excellence for this leading periodical of the Church.

The Publishers have undertaken the publication of the Southern Review with the conviction that their endeavor to meet the demand of the Church for such publication will be generously sustained, and they, therefore, appeal to all their friends to assist them in the work.

The Review has already taken a place with the first periodirals of its kind in Europe and America. Every possible effort upon the part of the Editor and Publishers will be made, not only to retain that exalted position, but also to become worthy of more distinguished favor.

The Review will continue its relation to the General Conference, whose Editorial Committee, Bishop Doggett, Prof. F. H. Smith, of the University of Virginia, and Rev. A. W. Wilson, retain supervisory control of its Theological Department.

All ministers are authorized agents.

Price, per annum, of Southern Review, $5.00; clergymen, $4.00. Address:
